Air Fried Bacon Wrapped Asparagus

*Recipe from Everyday Family Cooking

bacon wrapped asparagus

Crispy bacon pairs perfectly with tender asparagus to make for a yummy Easter appetizer! Makes 6-8 servings.

Pro tip for picking fresh asparagus: Opt for brightly colored stalks (there are green, purple, and white varieties) that are plump and firm to the touch — stay away from limp spears! The tips should be compact and closed, and the full bundle should be able to stand upright on its own. Bonus points if your supermarket keeps them in water. This ensures freshness! Also be sure to wash asparagus before cooking.

Prep Time: 10 Minutes

Cook Time: 12 Minutes

Total Time: 22 Minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch of asparagus
  • 1 pound of bacon (regular sliced not thick)

Instructions:

  1. Wash and trim the ends of your asparagus.
  2. Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees F.
  3. Wrap one slice of bacon around one stalk of asparagus.
  4. Lay your bacon-wrapped asparagus in your air fryer. If possible lay the ends of your bacon down flat to help keep them from curling. Leave space between your stalks so the air can circulate around them. Cook thicker stalks for 12 minutes and thinner ones for 10 minutes in a separate batch.
  5. Serve and enjoy!

Deviled Egg Chicks

*Based on a recipe from natashaskitchen.com

deviled egg chicks

Prep Time: 10 Minutes

Cook Time: 15 Minutes

Total Time: 25 Minutes

Ingredients:

  • 12 large eggs, hard boiled and peeled
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 1/2 tsp dijon mustard, or add to taste
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp salt, or to taste
  • 1 small carrot
  • 1 tbsp peppercorn

Instructions:

  1. Peel 12 hard-boiled eggs. With a sharp knife, slice off a very thin layer from the base of the egg - this will give it a flat surface to stand on a platter. Cut off a generous top third of the egg. Squeeze around the egg base gently to loosen the yolk and it should pop right out. Keep the lids paired with their bases.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine 12 cooked yolks and mash well with a fork. Add 1/3 cup mayonnaise, 1 1/2 tsp dijon (or add to taste), 1/4 tsp garlic powder and 1/8 tsp salt, or season to taste. Mash everything together until smooth. Transfer mixture to ziploc or pastry bag and pipe generously into egg bases. Place the top 1/3 back over the base and press down slightly to adhere.
  3. Place 2 round peppercorns in the yolk mixture for the eyes.
